The heir to Samsung has become a criminal suspect in a widening investigation into corruption and influence-peddling in top levels of government and business in South Korea.
The political scandal has led to the impeachment of President Park Geun-hye in a vote by the country's Parliament.
Prosecutors have been looking into Samsung payments of about £20.6m for a business and foundations backed by Park's friend, Choi Soon-sil.
