A former top female jockey has been left paralysed in one leg - after developing a tumour the size of a THUMBNAIL.
Laura Barry, from Malton, North Yorkshire, found herself unable to walk after the tumour started pressing on her nerves.
The 24-year-old, who once rode for Ireland in a world championship, developed a pain in her left leg in January last year.
Thinking she had just injured herself, or was suffering as a result of her years as a jockey, she tried to put it to the back of her mind.
However, the pain intensified, soon becoming agonising.
Laura, originally from Limerick, Ireland, was working for Barclays Bank when the problems with her leg started.
